was addicted to cannabis, mandrax, heroin, alcohol, Benzodiazepines and crack for a total of 17 years (1980 to 1997) and is sober for 12 years – from 30 Nov 1997 till present.He is involved in drug awareness programs in schools and for communities in South Africa and neighbouring African countries. He was featured in the Readers Digest in Sept 2003 – Life Story called “ Long Crawl to Freedom”. He is director and founder of MINDS ALIVE Treatment Centre from July 2003 till Present in Durban, South Africa. He completed Honours Degree in Religion and Social Transformation in 2004 in UKZN, Durban – Mini Dissertation Titled “Religion, Spiritual and Substance Abuse and completed his Masters Degree in Social Science in 2006 in UKZN, Durban – Completed Masters Thesis on “ The Treatment of Substance Abuse in Residential Centres in the 21st Century.
He has been a guest on local Radio Stations and has presented his own program on Channel Islam International for over 8 years called “ Fools Paradise”, also featured in many local newspapers and magazines. He is currently conducting research in a new rehabilitation program and Ibogaine.

Dr. Bruno Rasmussen Chaves, MD, Internal medicine specialist, 25 years experienced with intensive care patients, 20 years experienced with clinical aspects of addiction, works with ibogaine for the last 15 years, he is responsible for the ibogaine application itself, and for the care of the patient during the hospitalization, which takes place in a general hospital equipped with all the resources, including an Intensive Care Unit.
He works at Clinica Cleuza Canan, together with psychologist Dr. Cleuza Canan, and they are located in two cities: Curitiba, where the patients do the pre and post treatment routine, and at Sta Cruz Rio Pardo, where the hospital is located and treatments take place.

is an Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Neurology at the New York University School of Medicine. He is an author of over 70 peer-reviewed publications, books and book chapters, and is the first editor of the only English language text on ibogaine. His research on ibogaine and the iboga alkaloids has combined psychopharmacology and the methodology of medical ethnography, includes a frequently cited case series on the use of ibogaine for the indication of heroin detoxification, and recent paper published in the Journal of Ethnopharmacology that combined qualitative and quantitative methods to provided a comprehensive overview on the global settings of the use of ibogaine. In addition to his work on ibogaine and the iboga alkaloids, Dr. Alper is independently supported by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) as an investigator in the quantitative EEG in cocaine dependence. His published clinical research on the neuropsychiatric aspects of epilepsy has included highly cited work on trauma and abuse in conversion disorder and dissociative symptomatology, and the effect of psychopharmacological treatment on seizure threshold.

Has a B.A. in education and teaching and M.A. in management and marketing from the University of Maryland, USA. He is a certified manager of clinical trials in Israel, followed the Good Clinical Practice Seminar of the FDA, and is certified consultant in the European Union Research & Development Program, Tel-Aviv, Israel.
He is an Ibogaine treatment provider, having done close to 100 sessions in the Netherlands, Panama and Israel from 1989 to present. He was medic and treatment provider both with ICASH underground Ibogaine treatments and NDA International.
He was the strategic planner and operator on the side of the founder of the Ibogaine medicalization movement, Mr. Howard Lotsof and was co-author of the first Ibogaine treatment Manual: 'Manual for Ibogaine Therapy Screening, Safety, Monitoring & Aftercare. Jose Carlos Bouso’s studies addressed preliminary data on the safety and efficacy of different doses of MDMA administered in a psychotherapeutic setting to women with chronic posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) secondary to a sexual assault. He also has been develope neuropsychological research about long term effects of ayahuasca use in both Spanish and Brazilian communitties. He currently works in Dr Jordi Riba's team conducting neuropharmacological research on psychedelics.
